From what i have read about Save Our Cemeteries. i thought that its really important to learn about the people the were buried at the cemetary. and its important to help preserved the tombstones as giving respect to those that passed away. Giving respects to those who have passed away is a must, they are the people who have done so much things for louisiana, therefore save the cemteteries by restoring the toombstones can really be a big help in playing a role for humane society.
From what you’ve read for this week, speculate how Save Our Cemeteries might play a role in the promotion of a just and humane society? Sunday, Apr 24 2011

Do some research on Katherine Drexel. Do you think she would be happy with Xavier today? Why or why not? Monday, Dec 13 2010
Week Eight 12:37 am
Katharine Drexel was born in Philadelphia to Francis Anthony Drexel and Hannah Langstroth. Her family owned a considerable banking fortune, and her uncle Anthony was the founder of Drexel university in Philadelphia. Sister to Louise and Elizabeth.
Drexel dedicated her life and inheritance to the needs of oppressed native america and African-Americans in the western and southwestern United State. To address racial injustice and destitution and spread the Gospel to these groups, she established a religious order, the sisters for Indians and Colored People. She also financed more than 60 missions and schools around the United States; in addition, she founded Xavier University of Louisiana , the only historically Black, Catholic university in the United state. I think if she can see Xavuer right now, she would be happy because this school is very popular college around the world
What role does money play in Farmer’s quest to provide health care Monday, Dec 13 2010
Week Seven 12:23 am
Money plays a huge part in Farmer’s quest to provide health care besause without money farmers wouldnt be able to help all the sick people in Haitii, eventhough money isnt important to farmers but without it he couldnt buy the medicine and the equpiments to treat his patients. Overall, money played a huge role in Farmer’s quest to provide health care because without the money, he wouldn’t have been able to save the lives of Hatii people.
What role does Farmer’s Catholic heritage play in his work? Does your religious heritage influence your work? Friday, Oct 15 2010
Week Six 1:23 am
Paul Farmer’s Catholic heritage is a doctor, and according to at least one of his former patients in Haiti, he’s a god. Farmer specializes in infectious disease and he made it his mission to transform health care by focusing on the world’s poorest and sickest communities. Farmer helped found a nonprofit called Partner in Health, which says its mission is both medical and moral. Through Farmer’s catholic religion, he has good morals by treating and helping everyone equally despite their different race or gender.
Yes, religious heritage influences have a big impact in my life I’m Catholic and I go to church every Sunday. To me it’s more important to behave and treat others kindly and to live God on a daily basis that to go to a church every Sunday to pray. Religion plays an important role in laying a basic foundation of good. It gives all of us a higher power to look up to the ultimate role model if you will. They learn about basic kindness, moral values. Religion definitely plays a big role in how to treat everyone with respects and never look down on anyone and I believe that if you follow your conscience, you will live a good Christian life.
How has poverty benefited Haiti and New Orleans? How has it hurt Haiti and New Orleans? Do you believe in the preferential option for the poor? Friday, Oct 15 2010
Week Four 12:50 am
Poverty is powerlessness, lack of representation and freedom. Poverty is an issue that the world faces every day. Poverty is a major problem in New Orleans and Haiti today. Social, economical, political, and cultural factors all contribute to poverty. Economic development ismajor issues that will help prevent poverty. Haiti and New Orleans lacks economic conditions in which make people sufficient income to obtain basic needs for food, health services and housing. However, poverty has benefit Haiti and New Orleans by bringing communities together and become closer to each others. During hurricane Katrina, many others countries helps out and New Orleans had benefit a lot from federal aids such as Road Home, FEMA, and Red Cross. Poverty also hurt Haiti and New Orleans badly because this state and city is already known as one of the poorest place in the world. Therefore, poverty is never good for poor residents that live in this place. Yes, I believe in preferential option for the poor because if everyone who are willing helps one another out then the world will live in peace.
what is your favorite class at Xavier? Why? Friday, Oct 15 2010
Miscellaneous 12:15 am
My favorite class at Xavier is Chemistry. Chemistry is the science of matter; the branch of the natural sciences dealing with the composition of substances and their properties and reactions. I like this class because I like seeing how different materials, chemicals, and things around us react together and form other things. Chemistry is just so interesting in all the things you can learn from it and it fits together with biology and physics science. Also, I like this class at Xavier because this school offers the class call chemistry drill, we have a test in here every week to see are you fully understand the materials that you have learned in lecture and to help you prepared for the exams.
