I really enjoyed my cemetery experince. I learned alot of different thing about the people of the past. It was a good way to learn about the history of the cemetery and its future. Which I doubt that St. Louis Cemeteries would last very long because of how many tombs go missing. That seemed weird because “where did they go”? Another thing was “How did all these babies die?” What were the parents doing to their children back then….. but it was a great experience and I wouldn’t mind going back to cite the graves again.

 

Society through it’s cemetery Tuesday, Mar 31 2009

You can learn plenty about society through its cemetery. You can learn about the people in those times. You can also guess the way they lived by their life spand. The way the tombs are you can tell if they were historic people or people who migrated alot and cared little about the dead. Cemeteries give you a clue about what were their goal  in the past and the way they carried themselves. The way the landmark looks you can see if the people were poor or wealthy.  You can also tell if they had a big family or not and how they were organized.

Dear Mrs. Pearl,

              I wanted to take this time out to thank you for all you have done for me during my freshman year at Xavier. You have been a big help in my success throughout these two semesters. I apperciate your tolerence and great efford in helping many students who attend Xavier. You have helped me in many ways and I’am grateful to have your presence. I know that I can come to you if I have any questions or concerns about school and I will make sure I always remember that every opportunity will be right infront of me.

When People Die Saturday, Feb 28 2009

I think when people die their soul leaves their body and roam the earth. Then their bodies are put into a grave until they turn back into ashes and the only thing that is left over are their bones. I dont believe that people go straight to heaven when they die I THINK that they roam the earth until judgement day come “he will come again to judge the living and the dead”. Hopefully their souls leave their bodies because I would’t want to feel like im stuck in a dark box for probably years because who knows when judgement day will come.

I don’t know about you but I believe in heaven! When I think of heaven I picture a beautiful place with no sin and nothing can go wrong. If you have a religion then you are grown to believe in heaven because that’s your after life. I think that ideas of heaven do promote a just in human society. The reason I feel this way is because many bibles have a certain picture for heaven such as heaven is this  and heaven is above, when there is no proof of it. Although I second guess it alot I still believe in heaven until I am proven wrong and I come back as a ant or something.

 

A memorable funeral Saturday, Feb 28 2009

I haven’t been to many funerals, but one funeral I remember well is my grandmother’s [dad's mom]. I was about 14 years old my, 9th grade year. At the funeral though I was sad about losing someone special to me I didn’t show any emotion throughout the whole process. I was calm like it was just another family get together. There were people there that I didn’t even see before, I didn’t even know they exsisted in my family. What makes this so memorable is I saw my oldest brother crying and I never seen him show and emotions before only an angry one. He was really close to her, seeing him break down like that really hurted me and thats when all of my saddness that was building up just came out all at once.
