What is your favorite class at Xavier and why? Tuesday, Oct 13 2009

English would be my favorite class at Xavier. It is my favorite class because you have the option to express yourself in many different ways. English is a class that teaches people how to express themselves on paper and out loud. English is an very important class for  simple things like writing an resume for a job. If you cant write clearly the employer will not even set and interview because you cant articulate what you want to say. In English you have the chance to see how other people feel about the same topics. You can learn how to explain how you feel about something you do not agree with without looking ignorant.

Ithink his father would be astounded by his great achievements and accomplishments in life.Even though Obama and his father had there share of ups and downs as far as his father abandoning him in his younger years and him and his father having choice words for his father abandoning him.He should be proud of his son because he has broken down racial barriers,encouraging African American people everywhere,being the first black president of the United States.He has not only inspired the world but by him being able to tell people and not be ashame of where he comes from is very motovtional and inspiring to the young and the old. Obamas’father should be proud that he has created a young man that has not fallen to be another statistic in this world.I not only think but i know that his father would be proud of him because of his accomplishments and him being a great father figure to his children.

What type of leadership skills do you posess? Sunday, Oct 11 2009

I believe that I’m the type of person that has many leadership skills. I like to be able to use my own mind and do what I want to do. Although I am very quiet, I have many  thoughts and I listen to myself. I believe that its better to be a leader and not a follower. One thing that I believe makes me a good leader would be I like to do research to find out things I do not know. I always try to help other people that may not know the things that I do. I don’t believe that Im always right, I understand that there are somethings that I wont know. I understand that I will not always agree with everyone. Thats why it is important for me to be able to express my feelings in a professional way. There’s nothing wrong with challenging someone’s intelligence, but there’s ways to do it

How has poverty benefited New Orleans? How has it hurt New Orleans? Monday, Sep 28 2009

Poverty has made New Orleans what it is. It has made New Orleans very unique and it makes the natives and everyone that is aware of Hurricane Katrina appreciate what they have. Poverty has made all the New Orleans traditions, foods, people and the appearances what they are. sPoverty hurts New Orleans because it is one of the major reasons that the crime rate is so high. Everyone has wants and needs, so most New Orleans citizens have to find its way to get that. Crime is everywhere but it’s just that the  New Orleans population a very high and more of the population is black. To me I feel as though the media is trying to make it seems a whole lot worse than what it is. Of course, there is a lot of murdering and stealing going around, but thats anywhere, the only thing is there are more black people in New Orleans to do so.

What Are Your Professional Plans And How Does Xavier’s Mission Affect That Wednesday, Sep 16 2009

My professional plans are to become a pharmacist and  to attend Xavier’s Pharmacy school. I want to prepare myself the best way I can to make into the Pharmacy school. Im going to give it my all because I might as well work hard in school for several years and make good money later, than to play in school and make minimum wage for the rest of my life. Xavier’s mission statement is whatever you make out of it. I definitely want to become a leader no matter what I am doing in life. I want to be somebody’s boss. I want to be able to take care of myself and get whatever I want and not have to worry about financial issues. I am basically being a leader already because I am the oldest child, grandchild and niece so everybody is looking at me for setting the path for the younger ones in our family.

Why Did You Choose To Come To Xavier Wednesday, Sep 16 2009

Xavier has obtained a very good reputation and I wanted to be apart of that. Xavier is known all across the U.S. Its not one of those schools where you have to ask where its located; everyone already knows!I chose to attend X.U. because its not to close but not to far from home. I also wanted to go to HBCU to be surrounded with people of my kind trying to make a positive step in their lives. I knew that I would be able to learn more because of the small class sizes. I would have the opportunity to be more than a number to my teachers.I visited the campus and was pleased to see that the campus was not that big at all. Being that my major is Chem/Pre-pharm I think that I made the right chose to attend XU, the school is known for educating health professionals. I feel that provides their students with the tools and guidance need to be more attractive to the work force.
