Week Ten 1:27 pm
Interview a Xavier senior about his/her thoughts on Xavier’s misson and blog about what they say. Tuesday, Nov 24 2009
Week Nine 1:07 pm
Terry Richardson said, “I believe that Xavier’s mission statement is very accurate. Wtih the impact that it has on the greater New Orleans community and beyond. With Xavier providing each student with a learning enviroment where they can be succesful, and carry on the Xavier tradition in the workplace is awesome. Also, the diversity represented at Xavier is valuable for all students, faculty, and staff because we are able to gain a different vantage point of how the world is seen through other’s eyes. Lastly, with the university being Catholic, there is a certain standard that Xavier is held to, which is represented in the integrity of the school to its students, faculty, and staff “.
I think that Terry is absolutely correct. Xavier is living up to their mission statement.
Katherine Drexel Saturday, Nov 14 2009
Week Eight 12:46 pm
Foundress of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament 1891. Born on November 26, 1858, in Philadelphia. Katherine Drexel was the second daughter of Francis Anthony Drexel, and Hanna Langstroh. She founded Xavier University in 1925. Katherine Drexel built this university on morals, and the hope of higher learning for African-Americans. When i read about Katherine Drexel and her accomplishments, i think she would be proud. I think she would be happy that the university kept its name, and is still an African-American College. She would happy to see what Xavier students stand for, and she would be happy to see how many graduate. I also believe that she would be happy when she reads our mission statement, and see that Xavier students try to go by the mission statement.

Week Seven 3:46 pm
What would Barack Obama’s father think of the Book? Monday, Oct 12 2009
Week Six 7:16 pm
I think the Barack’s father would be very proud. Even though things were not smooth sailing with the two of them, he loved his dad and i think that was evident in the book. Barak’s dad would be so proud to see what Barack is doing, and what change he is bringing to the world. I think his dad would love that Barack is currently taking the hardest job in America right now. Barack is trying to bring change to America, he is going against what a lot of people think, and he is trying to do it the right way. So if i was Barak’s father i would say,” I am very proud of my son, and proud of the change he is trying to bring to America”.
What type of leadership skills do you possess? Monday, Oct 12 2009
Week Three 7:15 pm
I think im a leader. The reason i think im a leader is because i dont follow people. I make my own decisions, and what people think of me really doesnt bother me. I play tennis and as a tennis player, and being on a team you must have some type of leadership skills. You have to be able to be ready for the unexpected, and be willing to step up when on one else wants too, or cant. As a leader you have to be willing to sacrifice and work hard when people around you are not doing the same. Being a leader is definitely something that i have.

How has poverty benefited New Orleans? How has it hurt New Orleans? Monday, Oct 12 2009
Week Four 7:12 pm
Poverty—is the condition of lacking basic human needs such as nutrition, water, and health care, clothing, and shelter because of the inability to afford them.
My opinion is that there is nothing positive that comes from the word, poverty. Poverty has hurt New Orleans. Poverty leads to crime, and crime leads to murder, and other things that no one should ever have to endure. I think that after Hurricane Katrina hit, it increased the poverty in New Orleans. There are still places here where you can see the damage. There is still places that are empty, such as stores and homes. It’s obvious that New Orleans has not fully recovered from the natural disaster. I think within time, New Orleans will be a beautiful city again.

Why did you choose to come to Xavier? Monday, Oct 12 2009
Week One 7:10 pm
There are several reason i decided to come to Xavier. For starters i wanted to come because i wanted to be a Pharmacist. I heard, and did some research, and found that Xavier was the best HBCU school for medicine. They have an excellent number of young men and women who are excepted into medical school. Another reason is because i am very big on athletics, i love tennis. I received a full ride to Xavier on an athletic scholorship, and third i just love the feel of New Orleans.
